What are the recycle Rules for the Managed Waste & Recycling Site?

Listed below are some Questions & Answers for Recycling.  

Can I take Newspapers & Magazines to the Managed Waste & Recycling Site?

Yes, 

Newspapers: (including shiny inserts),
Please tie newspaper in heavy string or twine in 6" stacks.  No scrap paper or junk mail.


Magazines, Catalogs and Phone books.
No scrap paper of junk mail.
Bundle magazines with heavy string or twine in 6" stacks.
Keep all newspaper and magazines DRY.
  


 

When does the Managed Waste & Recycling Site accept Tires?
and Is there a service Charge? 


They accept tires on Memorial & Labor Day weekends ONLY.
There is a service charge for each tire as follows.
 Car and Truck $3.00 each
Small tractor tires $12.00each over 38 " $17.00 each
Semi-tires  20" - 22.5" $8.00 each
The larger the tire the more it cost.


I have glass items what can I recycle?
 
You can recycle Jars & Bottles Only
No light bulbs, dishes, cookware, or glasses,
windows or mirror glass can not be recycled. 

How to Prepare:
Rinse clean, clear, greeen and brown glass only.
You do not have to remove labels on glass.
Place lids with regular garbage, 
Remove metal rings.  

Can I recycle Aluminum?

Yes, the Managed Waste & Recycling Site does accept Aluminum Cans Only, No foil, pie plates. No soda pop or beverage tabs.

How to Prepare:

Drain all liquid, Rinse clean, remove tabs.



Can I take Tin Cans to the Drop Off Site?

We accept Food or aerosol cans only.
No paint or chemical cans will be accepted.


I am confused about what Plastic items I can recycle. please clarify,  what I can recycling.

Recycling can be confusing, we do accept containers marked on the bottom with
1 or  2. 
Normally  soda and clear liquid bottles. However not all bottles marked 
1 or 2 are acceptable at this time. 

How to Prepare: Remove lids, Rinse clean, Crush containers.
When in doubt please ask the staff. 
No containers used for medicine, oil, or chemical (e.g. motor oil or antifreeze) can be recycled.

By collecting or using recycled materials, finding new markets for materials that would otherwise end up in landfills, and exploring new ways to reduce waste, our recycling industry stimulates economic development and drives real job creation.

I have Cardboard and Paper bags I need to recycle,
How do I Prepare these items?

We accept CLEAN, DRY, Brown Paper Bags & Cardboard (including ceral boxes). 
No WAX covered cardboard is accepted. 
You will need to flatten all boxes,
cut large pieces to less then 3 foot square.
Bundle with string or place in grocery bag. 
Please do not tape together.     

 

I have a Air-Conditioner that does not work can I take this to the Drop Off Site,  Is there a charge?

We accept Freon Appliances on
Memorial Day and
Labor Day Weekends Only
There is a charge of $15.00 for each item.
(Air-Conditioners, Refrigerators, Freezer, Dehumidifiers any other appliances with Freon in them.)
